The Toninho Ferragutti and Strings Quintet show “Nem sol, nem Lua”, gathers the authorial repertoire of the artist’s homonym CD. In the show, Toninho walks through concert musics, jazz, tango and ‘baião’, in themes whose string arrangements were made by the maestros Edson Alves, Antonio Duran, Adail Fernandes, Nailor Proveta, and by Ferragutti himself.
The play “Fantasia Para Acordeão e Orquestra de Cordas”, also performed in the show, was ordered by OSESP (São Paulo State Symphony Orchestra) and had its world premiere in June 2012 in the Sala São Paulo Theater conducted by Maestro Claudio Cruz.
The show has dozens of performances in Brazil and abroad, standing out the Spoleto Jazz Festival (Charleston SC – USA), Victor Salvi Festival (Cartagena – Colombia), Chamber Music Festival (SESC São Paulo) and Campos do Jordão Festival
This same repertoire has also been played by Toninho alongside several Quintets and Strings Orchestras such as the Camerata Fukuda, Paraiba Quintet, Mato Grosso State Orchestra, Soloist Chamber Orchestra of Londrina, USP Chamber Orchestra among others.
